What Is Powder Coating?
Powder coating is a dry finishing process. Instead of spraying wet paint, we apply a fine, electrostatically-charged powder that clings evenly to every surface of your part — edges, corners and all. The part then goes into a curing oven, where the powder melts, flows, and chemically bonds into one continuous, rock-hard shell.

Powder Coating FAQ
How long does powder coating last?
With proper prep, a powder-coated finish can last many years — significantly longer than liquid paint. Because it’s cured into a thick, uniform shell, it resists the chipping, fading and corrosion that break paint down. Real-world life depends on the part, the environment and how it’s used.
Can you match a specific color?
Usually, yes. We stock and source thousands of colors and finishes — gloss, matte, satin, metallic, candy and textured — so we can match an existing look or create something custom, including two-tone and masked designs. Bring a sample or a color code and we’ll dial it in.
What materials can be powder coated?
Most metals that can handle the curing-oven temperature — steel, aluminum, and more. If you’re not sure your part is a candidate, send us a photo and we’ll let you know before you bring it in.
Do you strip old paint or coatings first?
Yes. Previously finished parts run through our burn-off oven to remove old paint and powder down to bare metal, then we media-blast and wash so the new coating bonds properly. Good prep is what makes a coating last.
How much does powder coating cost?
It depends on the size of the part, the prep required, and the finish you choose — and whether it’s a one-off or a production run with volume pricing. Send us your part details for a fast, no-pressure quote.
Do you offer pickup or delivery?
We handle shipping and delivery across a roughly two-hour radius of Le Roy, including Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and Corning. Shipping hours are 8:30am–4:00pm, Monday through Friday.
